About Liz Wain
Liz Wain is passionate about product. An indispensable partner in navigating and guiding the design and product development process, Liz brings decades of experience as a creative director, licensor, licensee, manufacturing and marketing executive and retailer to the world of licensing.
Liz Wain is passionate about product. An indispensable partner in navigating and guiding the design and product development process, Liz brings decades of experience as a creative director, licensor, licensee, manufacturing and marketing executive and retailer to the world of licensing. Uniquely qualified by her 360-degree knowledge of licensing, she loves creating for every price point, and truly believes that all consumers deserve well-designed merchandise. A smart and honest builder, creator and innovator, Liz knows that collaboration and transparency create enduring partnerships.
Liz began her creative career in the 1980s as a couture designer of table linens. She launched her eponymous collection at Barneys New York and quickly expanded to Bergdorf Goodman. She grew her table linen collection into a luxury lifestyle brand available at more than 1200 boutiques worldwide, including Colette Paris, Neiman Marcus, Joyce Boutique HK, and Harrods. She soon added a licensing division to expand brand reach. Liz Wain licensed products were sold through specialty and mass-market retailers including Bed Bath & Beyond, Bloomingdale’s, JCPenney, Kohl’s, T.J. Maxx, and Sears.
Liz enjoys giving back to the community that nurtured her creative career: She mentors artists, entrepreneurs and students; presents at Surtex and LIMA events; serves on the Bright Endeavors Business Advisory Board; and partners with Covenant House Illinois. A native Californian and former New Yorker, Liz resides in Chicago. She has a degree in economics and urban design from UC Berkeley and studied surface pattern design at Parsons School of Design.
FUN FACT: Liz sold the most Girl Scout Cookies in the San Fernando Valley in 1972
