Brooklyn, New York resident Jessica Hollander is the talent behind lifestyle brand India & Purry, named after her cherished cats. Calm, spiritual, and introspective, Jessica incorporates “the healing energy from nature” into her art. She appreciates the beauty of color relationships and natural objects, and her intention is for consumers to feel a sense of peace when living with her art. Jessica draws inspiration from the outdoors, often setting up her easel and giant canvas in the woods and painting barefoot in the warm months. Whether making art plein air or in her studio, Jessica usually begins with a five-minute meditation. A student of Hinduism, her home altar features Saraswati, the goddess of art and creativity.
Along with an art career, Jessica considered becoming a plastic surgeon as the field combines visual art, sculpting, and an interest in beauty, and she is not particularly squeamish.
